Marseille ne sourit pas (2013-2019)
In 2013 I moved to Marseille for a couple of months in order to study the gentrification process in the center of the city. I felt totally in love with the Phoceenne city. I could discover the beauty of its multicultural and multiclass neighboroughs. The historic 'metissage' culture strenghtened by working class culture of the the harbour and factories was at the time challenged by the gentrification of the city held by the Euromed Project that wanted to transform the city in a high specialized center for trade and fiscal services.
In the last years, due to the failure of the Euromed Project, mass tourism is trying to change the surface of this city in which the targets of the local political class are still very different from the real needs of the population.
